ABOUT

Kari Hunter began her career in horticulture at the age of 23. She started up a successful plant nursery in conjunction to her construction company. Bella Rosa Nursery became quickly known for conceptual designs that honored sustainability and protected our delicate eco-systems. It carried upwards of 50,000 plants on a 3 acre parcel. It contained display gardens showcasing the best plants suitable for the area. She was recruited by the Indian Wells Valley Water District to deliver lectures teaching consumers how to garden wisely through Xerioscape methodology. She did this for 8 years. She spoke often to garden clubs as well as gave demonstrations at large events. She did a10 year study on the heat and cold tolerances of plant species compatible to the harsh desert environment in which she lived. Twelve hundred plant species were deemed sustainable in the challenging Upper Mojave Desert climate due to her study. Homeowners no longer had to worry about their plants dying because of the drastic heat and cold index. The nursery expanded its services to Landscape Design & Install.  Kari provided tailored landscapes to her General Construction Company’s new homes as well.  These businesses lasted for 12 years until a personal dilemma caused her to part ways.

Her new journey took Kari back to school.  She obtained her BA in Environmental Studies, and her MBA in Business Administration with a concentration in Environmental Management. While working towards her degrees, Kari continued working in the Construction industry.  She worked as an Environmental Coordinator on Superfund sites as well as a Project Manager in the commercial landscape construction industry.

ECO Gal was birthed from Kari realizing the needs of her favorite industry.  Beautiful landscapes and client care are her forte’.  ECO Gal not only desires to be the best in the industry, but the most ecologically sound.  Eco Gal is mindful of the client’s overall satisfaction and bases its business model on the 3 P’s: People ~ Planet ~ Profit. In that order. There is no room for greed or unsavory practices in this company.  We pay everything forward in kindness.

Lastly, ECO Gal is currently coupling with a subsidiary non-profit whose goal is to find solutions for our homeless population.  A percentage of proceeds from every project will be given to ECO Friends. Not only will a customer secure a beautiful habitat with their money, but they will be a part of a greater good. This new concept will take food and provisions to homeless camps in a food service truck rather than have a brick and mortar building that negatively affects surrounding neighborhoods.  The idea is to expand to needful communities, cities, states, even countries – one truck at a time!  Furthermore, this food service will aim to be at the forefront of disaster situations like the California fires, feeding those who need a little bit of kindness and a little bit of hope.  Stay Tuned!  ECO Friends is on its way!
